Out-take moments

3rd February 2012 14:19:01

In order to spare my husband from hours of inane horsey chit-chat, I sometimes frequent a couple of horse forums. This allows me to talk about horses to my heart’s content without boring my nearest and dearest to tears!

A good side effect of this activity is that it often gives me inspiration for my blogs! Quite often, there are threads about riding mishaps and it is this which has given me the inspiration for this blog post.

Quite often, when I am photographing at events, I am filled with awe as these fantastic horses and riders make light work of fences which are, quite frankly, utterly terrifying! The best often seem to ‘skip’ round and finish their rounds looking as fresh as when they set out. The casual observer might therefore, be tricked into thinking that jumping horses is fairly easy…..how wrong can they be?!

I have attached some of my best ‘Ooops’ moments, where horse and rider have not quite agreed! I think you’ll agree that they do a good job of redressing the balance!
