The 1471 (Horwich) Squadron ATC held a Battle of Britain Ball at the Mercure Hotel in Blackrod.
Around 150 guests attended. They included Cumbria and Lancashire Wing Commander Steve Molloy, mayors and mayoresses from the area, local businessmen and women and approximately 30 cadets from the squadron along with their parents.
The ball raised £1,380, half of which will be donated to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund (RAFBF) and the rest used for the upkeep of the squadron minibus.
