Champagne, canapés and an appearance by acclaimed chef and hotelier Michael Caines put some fizz into a drinks party hosted by the editor of Cheshire Life, Louise Allen-Taylor, and Lancashire Life editor, Roger Borrell.
The occasion at Abode Hotel, Manchester, was a ‘thank you’ to judges and sponsors involved in the magazines’ Food and Drink Awards 2011. Chefs created a feast of mini savouries for guests to enjoy while sampling the fine wines and cocktails.
Roger Borrell thanked the judges and sponsors for their generous support and expertise which, he said, helps to make the annual awards one of the region’s most prestigious food events.
Michael Caines, a previous winner, welcomed guests and thanked the editors and Kate Wilson, Life Magazines’ events organiser, for creating an occasion to reward the hospitality and food industry. ‘There is a high standard among this area’s restaurants and food producers and it’s great that Cheshire Life and Lancashire Life provide this opportunity for that to be recognised,’ he said.
This year’s winners will be revealed at a black tie dinner on October 25th Manchester’s Midland Hotel.
